Signed last week, the new partnership brings together our two highly successful organisations.
For us here at Riventa, the strategic investment in our business will help us to realise ambitious plans; whilst the acquisition will strengthen the Saur Group’s offering to municipal and industrial customers in France and other international markets where the group wants to grow.
Our two organisations first worked together 18 months ago at a water pumping plant managed by Saur in Ile-de-France, where our innovation resulted in annual energy savings of 21%, (plus projected additional savings of 8% to be achieved through the renewal of specific pumps). Pump tests at a further seven Saur-managed stations confirmed the efficacy of our technology.

The new partnership is the culmination of much positive, collaborative work by all involved, with more success still to come. During the coming year, deployments of our technology will involve 64 of Saur’s operating sites. These planned deployments will build upon our existing work with 14 of the UK’s 30 public water utilities, which include Thames Water, United Utilities and Severn Trent. Internationally, we’re active in the United States, Korea and Brazil, as well as in Australia and India. As part of Saur we will deliver innovation at many sites across France, Spain, Poland, Saudi Arabia and Colombia.
Riventa co-founders – Tom Clifford and Steve Barrett – will continue to oversee the business, with our recently expanded and very talented team continuing to manage partnerships and projects.
Riventa’s Managing Director, Steve Barrett, said:
“We’re delighted to be part of the Saur SAS Group, a dynamic and driven utility company operating many thousands of water concessions for its international client base of public asset owners.
“Saur share our vision for the future of Riventa and our work together will focus on smart water innovation and technology, delivering a differentiated offer to the market designed to add value to municipal and industrial customers. It’s an extremely exciting time for all involved.”
Riventa’s Consultancy Director, Tom Clifford, said:
“Combining Riventa’s leading-edge technology, Saur’s ambition and resources – with our joint desire to innovate – I’m certain our alliance will be developing the pump performance solutions of tomorrow, creating real energy and environmental change.”
Saur’s Executive Chairman, Louis-Roch Burgard, said:
“L’ambition de Saur est de proposer une offre différenciée basée sur l’innovation afin d’apporter une valeur ajoutée à ses clients municipaux et industriels, en France et sur les autres marchés internationaux où le Groupe souhaite se développer. Cette acquisition contribuera au renforcement de notre compétitivité – via les économies d’énergie réalisées – mais aussi à notre offre liée aux enjeux de transition énergétique.”
