2018 New Year Chairman’s Report

In his New Year report, our Chairman, John Kneller, celebrates another fantastic year for Riventa and looks ahead to 2018.

John Kneller, Riventa Chairman, at the Pump Centre ConferenceAt the beginning of 2017 we focused on new partnerships to strengthen us for the year ahead. With electromechanical technology and services provider, Parsons Peebles, we agreed to deliver a new, combined offering to much of the UK water industry, bringing together our award-winning energy optimisation expertise with their world-class engineering solutions.

Working within the UK water market

Our partnership with Parsons Peebles has extended their reach within the UK water market, and is helping us to focus on and deliver our services to UK water companies. To support this work, we welcomed Simon Mitchell to the team in 2017 as Sales Manager. Over the coming year, Simon will continue developing our excellent customer relationships and collaborating with engineering partners.

As both an event sponsor and exhibitor, we attended 2017’s Pump Centre Conference in the UK. We exhibited alongside the Parsons Peebles team, presenting our new partnership and sharing the TOTEX-focused benefits of our joined-up solutions to the UK water industry. We were also delighted to share our innovation at British Water’s second Innovation Exchange, presenting our pioneering pump performance measurement methods.

We hope to see you at the 2018 Pump Centre Conference in May.

Our global reach gathers pace

Towards the end of Spring 2017, we were announced as a DuPont strategic partner for initiatives alongside Saudi Arabia’s Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC). We have been working with a number of partners on this very significant project and expect to see major progress in 2018.

Steve Barrett presenting at CFIS2017We also formed our US operation – Riventa Inc, further establishing our presence in North America. Riventa’s Steve Barrett presented our pilot project with a US water district at WaterStart’s Channels for Innovation Summit (CFIS) 2017. Held in Las Vegas, the CFIS event was a fantastic opportunity to showcase how we maximised operational performance, recommended asset upgrades and found hidden savings at a US water pumping station using our leading-edge wireless, pump monitoring technology.

In South America, we created a reseller network in Brazil that will help us take our products and solutions to an entirely new market.

Our long-standing operations in South Korea continue to gather pace and are also now acting as a springboard into other markets, with our local manager, Cho Geum Suk, attending exhibitions across South East Asia.

Developing our technology

During 2017 our technical development team rolled out our FFi3.0 technology – a wireless version of our FREEFLOW fixed system to the US market. It offers wireless monitoring of industrial-sized pumps, and is designed for rapid deployment and to minimise disruption to operations.

We were incredibly proud of the FFi3.0’s performance and capabilities, having verified class-leading accuracy with industry-lowest install costs. We will be rolling out our FFi3.0 technology throughout 2018.

Cementing our digital presence

Graphic showing the new Riventa websiteWe relaunched our website during 2017 with a number of exciting technological developments fit for the business world we operate in. These include a mobile responsive design, and the use of HTTPS to ensure our website is secure and robust for the future.

Over the year, we added a number of fantastic projects to our website’s case studies section, including a write up of our work in the US. Other projects included our work with a global food brand to find robust savings across its factory pumps – yet another example of us leading the field and working with global brands and partners.

We have also launched our new app to support customers with pump asset management.

Thank you!

We would like to thank the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020 for its grant from the BIG2 Project, which partly funded our new hydraulic test rig installation that we commissioned in April 2017 at our Head Office and R&D centre in Cornwall. This brings us industry-leading testing facilities ensuring that our technology delivers exceptional results, robust outcomes and real value for our clients across the world.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Team Riventa for a great 2017, and wish our customers, suppliers and partners every success over the coming year.

2017 was another very exciting and rewarding year for us at Riventa – a year we will look back on with pride. Now, we’re already underway with exciting projects for 2018.
